Harbor Point currently has two USPTA certified Pros teaching on our courts:


TIM O’NEAL

Hailing from Oregon, Tim is a USPTA Elite Professional rated coach.  In his 34 years of coaching, he has been the Director of Player Development at USTA NorCal, Director of Tennis at the Hong Kong Country Club, Head Professional at The Hong Kong Aberdeen Marina Club, and Senior Pro at the Beach and Tennis Club, Pebble Beach.

Tim played his college tennis at Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Oregon.  He was formerly ranked #1 in Men’s 35’s and #2 in Men’s 30’s in Northern California.  In 2018, he and his partner were the USTA NorCal 60’s Doubles Team of the Year and his teams in 2017 and 2018 were USTA NorCal Sectional Champions in Men’s 55 Doubles and represented NorCal at the National Finals in Orlando, Florida.   From 1999 to 2018, he has been a member and co-captain of the Osuna Cup Team, a 47 year competition between the United States and Mexico.

Coach Tim enjoys developing adults or juniors from beginner to advanced levels.  He is available for private or group  sessions.

LEORA GRIMSHAW

Leora has been playing tennis almost her entire life.  She played competitively throughout school and has spent the last 10 years playing National Age Group tournaments.  She has been ranked as high as 5th in the United States in the women’s 35’s singles and top 10 in women’s 35’s doubles. She has a silver ball in singles at Women’s Open Singles at the National Grass Courts in Newport, Rhode Island and 2 bronze balls in Women’s 35s Doubles at the National Hardcourts in La Quinta, California.  In 2018, she was a member of the USTA NorCal 35s Intersectional Team that placed fourth among the 17 USTA sections.

In addition to Leora’s competitive play, she has spent the last 20 years coaching players aged 3 years to 75 years old in both private and group lessons as well as match play.  For the last five years, Leora was the tennis coach at San Marin High School where, under her tutelage, several of her players competed at both the MCAL and NCS individual championship tournaments.

Leora is a long time member of Harbor Point playing both socially and competitively.  In 2019, she represented Harbor Point, and went undefeated in 5.0 singles at the USTA 40+ Nationals in Lake Nona, Florida. She is excited to continue her teaching and coaching career at HP.
